Installation Steps
1. Position the GB-003 on the wall beside the washbasin, at a height and angle appropriate for the user's reach range and transfer movement.
2. Typical mounting: the lower end of the bar at approximately 700mm above finished floor; the upper end at 850–900mm; angled to follow the natural arm movement during stand-to-sit transition.
3. Confirm fixing positions are in the structural wall substrate.
4. Drill, anchor and mount per the same process as GB-001 Installation Steps 3–9.
5. Confirm the bar does not obstruct basin access, tap operation or mirror use when in the installed position.
FAQ
Q: Why is a dedicated washbasin handle needed if there is already a toilet grab bar in the room?
A: The toilet grab bar is positioned for sit-to-stand transfer at the toilet. A basin-side handle is positioned for balance support during standing hygiene tasks (washing hands, cleaning teeth, washing face). These are distinct movements at different heights and positions — a toilet bar positioned for sit-to-stand cannot also serve as an effective balance support for a person standing at a basin. In accessible clinical bathroom design, both are specified.
