Installation Steps1. Measure all three bay dimensions from your floor plan: front rail length (across the foot of the bed) and both side rail lengths.
2. Mark ceiling anchor points at 400–500 mm intervals along all three arms.
3. Install ceiling mounting brackets (supplied) at all marked anchor points.
4. Connect three straight track sections using two 90° corner connectors (supplied) to form the U-shape.
5. Thread carrier hooks onto the track before fitting end caps. Carriers pass freely through both corner connectors.
6. Fit end caps to both open ends of the U-shape (the two back ends of the side rails).
7. Secure the assembled U-shape track to the ceiling brackets.
8. Hang hospital curtains by threading mesh header eyelet hooks onto the carrier hooks.
9. Slide curtains along all three sides to confirm smooth, snag-free operation through both corners.
10. Ensure curtain panels on the side rails have sufficient overlap with the front curtain panel at both corners (minimum 15–20 cm).
Note: For open wards with multiple adjacent bays, the end of one U-track can be mounted to the same bracket as the end of an adjacent U-track, minimising ceiling fixings in high-density ward configurations.
Product Advantages· Complete three-sided privacy — the standard enclosure format for open-plan wards; fully encloses the patient bay on three sides
· No floor obstruction — ceiling-mounted installation leaves the floor around the bed completely clear for clinical equipment, wheelchairs and staff movement
· Common carrier system with MC-20L — same carrier hooks and spare parts; simplifies maintenance and stock management across mixed-layout wards
· Custom sizing for any bay — standard hospital bay dimensions vary; all three arm lengths can be specified independently
· Quiet smooth operation — carrier hooks navigate both 90° corners silently; no noise disruption in ward environments
· Fast installation — all hardware pre-supplied; two-corner U configuration installs in under 2 hours per bay
FAQQ: What is the difference between the MC-20U and MC-20L?
A: The MC-20U is a three-sided U-shape track for open-ward bed bays (two side rails + one front rail, open at the back). The MC-20L is a two-sided L-shape track for corner-positioned beds (one corner bend, two arms). Both share the same 24 × 17.5 mm profile and carrier system.
Q: How many curtain panels does a U-shape track require?
A: Typically two or three panels: one for the front rail and one for each side rail, or one large panel that wraps from one side rail across the front rail and down the other side rail. The number of panels and their widths depend on your bay dimensions. Please contact us for a curtain sizing recommendation based on your MC-20U dimensions.
Q: Can I specify different lengths for each arm of the U?
A: Yes. All three arm lengths are independently customizable. Please provide all three dimensions (front width and both side depths) when ordering.
Q: Is the MC-20U compatible with MC-280 series curtains?
A: Yes. All MC-280 series curtains use standard eyelet hooks compatible with the MC-20U carrier system.
Q: Can I join MC-20U sections together for a longer front rail?
A: Yes. Straight track sections are joined using standard in-line connectors (available on request). This allows any front rail length to be assembled from standard section lengths.
Q: Do you supply the corner connectors separately if I need extras?
A: Yes. All accessories including corner connectors, carriers, end caps and mounting brackets are available as separate items. Please contact us with your requirements.
Q: What is the recommended carrier spacing?
A: We recommend placing carrier hooks at 80–100 mm intervals along the track for smooth, even curtain operation. Standard carrier quantities are calculated based on your track length and included in the order.
