Product Features
· Integrated LED light strip — continuous low-level LED illumination built into the handrail profile; provides corridor guidance at night without requiring full overhead lighting
· Night safety function — LED strip at handrail height illuminates the corridor floor zone visible to a walking patient; reduces fall risk during night-time patient ambulation
· Modern decorative effect — LED-illuminated handrail creates a premium contemporary aesthetic in hospital and nursing home corridors; visible design statement in reception areas and main corridors
· PVC panel construction with aluminum alloy bracket — structural wall mounting; antibacterial, flame-retardant PVC panel surface
· 35mm profile — compact profile that integrates cleanly with the corridor wall; LED strip sits within the profile without protrusion
· Customisable LED color — warm white (most common for healthcare), cool white, or other LED colors on request
· Compatible with standard low-voltage LED power supply systems — specify voltage requirements when ordering

Installation Steps
1. Plan the LED power supply route before marking bracket positions. The HR-035L requires a low-voltage DC power supply connection at each run end, or at intervals for longer runs. Confirm the LED power supply specification and routing with your electrical contractor before installation begins.
2. Install conduit or cable channel in the wall behind the handrail installation zone if the LED power cable cannot be routed through the wall cavity. The LED power cable should enter the HR-035L profile through the wall bracket zone, not through a surface-mounted cable trunking that would be visible below the handrail.
3. Mark bracket positions and install as per standard HR Series installation (Steps 1–6 from HR-140 procedure).
4. Route the LED power cable through the bracket zone before fitting the aluminum profile sections onto the brackets.
5. Connect LED strip wiring within the aluminum profile. Ensure all connections are waterproof-rated — the handrail may be exposed to cleaning solutions during corridor cleaning.
6. Fit PVC cover panels and end caps as per standard HR Series procedure.
7. Test LED illumination before the profile is fully closed and the corridor is returned to use. Check for even illumination along the full run and confirm no hotspots or dark zones at joins between LED strip sections.
8. Commission the LED power supply with the facility's electrical team to confirm switching integration (e.g., night-mode automatic dimming, motion-sensor activation, or continuous low-level illumination).
Product Advantages
· Passive fall prevention at night — continuous low-level corridor illumination at handrail height reduces fall risk for patients navigating corridors at night, without requiring staff presence or full corridor lighting
· Dual function: safety + aesthetics — LED handrail simultaneously fulfils a clinical safety function and creates a premium contemporary interior design statement; increasingly specified in new-build private hospital and nursing home projects
· Designed for infection control — all standard HR Series surface properties (antibacterial, flame-retardant, waterproof PVC) are retained in the HR-035L; the LED integration does not compromise the clinical hygiene performance of the product
FAQ
Q: Can the LED be dimmed or switched separately from the corridor lighting?
A: Yes. The HR-035L LED strip connects to a standard low-voltage DC power supply and can be integrated into any standard LED dimming or switching control system. Common configurations include: automatic night-mode activation (dimmed from 22:00–06:00), motion-sensor activation, and continuous 24-hour low-level illumination. Specify your preferred control system when ordering and we will advise on the appropriate LED driver specification.
Q: What is the LED lifespan and can the LED strip be replaced?
A: Standard LED strips used in the HR-035L have an expected lifespan of 30,000–50,000 hours under normal operating conditions (equivalent to 10+ years at 8 hours/day operation). The LED strip is accessible from the end of the profile for replacement if required. Replacement LED strips are available to order in the original specification.
Q: Is the electrical installation of HR-035L covered by standard electrical contractors?
A: Yes. The low-voltage DC wiring of the HR-035L is standard low-voltage LED installation work, compatible with the competencies of any qualified electrical contractor. We provide a wiring diagram and LED driver specification with each HR-035L order to support the electrical installation.
