Applications· Hospital ward corridors — standard wall protection specification for the most common hospital corridor wall protection requirement
· Nursing home and elderly care corridors — protection from wheelchair, walker and mobility aid contact
· Rehabilitation center corridors — wall protection for areas with frequent mobility equipment use during therapy sessions
· Schools and educational facilities — corridor wall protection for high-energy traffic environments
· Airports and transit facilities — wall protection in passenger circulation areas with luggage cart and wheelchair traffic
· Commercial and public buildings — general-purpose wall protection for institutional and commercial corridors
Installation Steps1. Determine mounting height — standard bumper protection height is 450-550mm from finished floor to the centre of the profile. This zone corresponds to typical cart, hospital bed frame and wheelchair footrest contact height. Confirm with your facility's specification or design team.
2. Mark bracket positions at 500-600mm spacing along the corridor wall.
3. Confirm structural wall substrate at all fixing positions — solid masonry, concrete or timber stud backing is required.
4. Drill pilot holes at each marked position, insert appropriate wall anchors for your substrate type.
5. Mount the ABS brackets using the supplied stainless steel screws, confirming level alignment along the full run with a spirit level.
6. Slide the aluminum core onto the mounted brackets. For continuous runs, butt-join sections with aluminum joining connectors.
7. Fit the PVC/vinyl cover over the aluminum core — the cover clips and snaps securely into position along the full length.
8. Fit ABS end caps and corner fittings at run ends and wall corners.
9. Apply a firm load test at multiple points along the installed wall guard before the corridor is returned to use.
Note: All brackets, screws, end caps and corner fittings are included with the WG-150 order.
Product Advantages· Most widely exported Jincheng wall guard model — established track record across healthcare facility projects in 50+ countries
· System compatibility — WG-150 coordinates directly with HR Series handrails and CG Series corner guards in matching colors, enabling single-supplier procurement for a complete wall protection system
· Replaceable cover — the PVC/vinyl cover can be removed and replaced independently without disturbing the wall mounting, reducing lifecycle maintenance cost
· Balanced specification — provides substantial protection coverage at a cost point appropriate for standard hospital procurement budgets
FAQQ: What is the standard mounting height for the WG-150?
A: The WG-150 is typically mounted at 450-550mm from finished floor to the centre of the profile, positioning it at the height where hospital beds, carts and wheelchair footrests most commonly contact the wall. This is lower than the 850-900mm grip height used for HR Series handrails — many corridors specify both products at their respective heights for complete two-zone protection.
Q: Can the WG-150 cover be replaced if damaged?
A: Yes. The PVC/vinyl cover clips onto the aluminum core and can be removed and replaced without disturbing the wall mounting brackets. This significantly reduces the lifecycle cost of the installation compared to products requiring full replacement after cover damage.
Q: What aluminum thickness should I specify for WG-150?
A: 1.2mm is standard for general corridor use. Specify 1.4mm for higher-traffic areas with frequent hospital bed transit. Specify 1.6mm for main thoroughfares and areas with the heaviest equipment traffic.
Q: Is WG-150 suitable for outdoor or semi-outdoor corridor use?
A: WG-150 with PVC cover is suitable for sheltered outdoor applications such as covered walkways. For fully exposed outdoor use, contact us to confirm the appropriate specification for your climate conditions.
