Applications· Clinic and outpatient department corridors — light-to-moderate traffic areas where full wall protection is desired without a wide profile
· Examination room and consulting room approach corridors — secondary corridors with lower equipment transit frequency
· Care home secondary corridors — areas with lighter foot and equipment traffic than main corridors
· Budget-conscious renovation projects — where compact wall protection is specified across a large total linear metre area
· Reception and waiting area walls — light protection for waiting area walls subject to occasional furniture and trolley contact
Installation Steps1. Determine mounting height — standard bumper protection height is 450-550mm from finished floor to the centre of the profile, corresponding to typical cart and wheelchair footrest impact height. Confirm with your facility's specification.
2. Mark bracket positions at 500-600mm spacing along the corridor wall at the determined height.
3. Confirm structural wall substrate at all fixing positions.
4. Drill pilot holes, insert appropriate wall anchors, and mount brackets following standard WG Series procedure.
5. Slide the aluminum core onto the mounted brackets, using a spirit level to confirm alignment along the full run.
6. Fit the PVC/vinyl cover over the aluminum core — the cover clips and snaps into position along the full length.
7. Fit end caps and corner fittings at run ends and wall corners.
8. Apply a firm load test before the corridor is returned to use.
Product Advantages· Cost-effective coverage — lowest material cost per linear metre in the WG Series; appropriate for large-area renovation projects with budget constraints
· Unobtrusive profile — 100mm width is visually lighter than wider crash rail profiles, suitable for corridors where a less prominent wall protection element is preferred
FAQQ: Is the WG-100 sufficient protection for a main hospital corridor?
A: WG-100 is appropriate for light-to-moderate traffic areas. For main hospital corridors with frequent hospital bed and heavy cart transit, we recommend WG-150 or WG-200B for greater impact absorption capacity. WG-100 is best specified for secondary corridors, clinic areas and lighter-traffic zones.
Q: Can WG-100 be combined with an HR Series handrail in the same corridor?
A: Yes. A common specification is WG-100 at bumper height (450-550mm) combined with an HR Series handrail at grip height (850-900mm), providing two-zone wall protection plus patient grip support in corridors with moderate traffic levels.
