Installation Guide for Stainless Steel Tactile Indicators and Tactile Strips (TGSI System)

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions

1️⃣ Mark and Drill the Installation Points
Using a layout template, mark the installation positions for each tactile stud or tactile strip according to the TGSI layout plan.Drill holes into the surface (such as concrete, tile, or stone) with a suitable drill bit — typically 8–10 mm in diameter and 15–20 mm deep.
Ensure each hole is vertical and clean for optimal adhesion.

2️⃣ Apply Adhesive or Sealant
Use a high-strength construction adhesive or epoxy sealant (neutral cure silicone or polyurethane recommended).
Fill each drilled hole or apply adhesive evenly along the tactile strip area to ensure firm bonding between the substrate and the tactile ground surface indicators (TGSI).

3️⃣ Insert the Tactile Studs or Strips
Gently press each stainless steel tactile stud, tactile bar, or tactile strip into place according to the design layout.
Ensure the detectable warning indicators are aligned consistently, maintaining straight rows and equal spacing to guide the visually impaired effectively.

4️⃣ Final Adjustment and Curing
After positioning, check for alignment accuracy and surface levelness.
Allow the adhesive to cure completely — generally 24 to 48 hours — before allowing pedestrian traffic.
This ensures the TGSI tactile paving system is securely fixed and durable for long-term accessibility use.
