Applications· Patient room walls — low-impact wall protection that maintains infection control standards in single-occupancy and shared patient rooms where heavy equipment contact is infrequent
· Administrative office areas within healthcare facilities — corridors and offices in admin wings where hygiene standards apply but impact risk is minimal
· School classroom walls — durable, easy-clean surface for general classroom environments without the impact protection requirements of corridors
· Low-traffic public building corridors — government buildings, office common areas requiring hygienic, easy-maintenance wall finishes
· Renovation projects with budget constraints — the most cost-effective entry point into the VS Series range, suitable where the project does not require heavy-duty impact resistance
Installation Steps1. Prepare the wall substrate — surface must be smooth, clean, dry and free from loose paint, grease or old adhesive residue.
2. Measure and cut panels to size using a sharp utility knife or fine-tooth saw, allowing for trim profiles at all edges and corners.
3. Dry-fit panels to confirm layout, panel orientation and trim positions before applying adhesive.
4. Apply panel adhesive evenly to the wall using a notched trowel, following the adhesive manufacturer's coverage rate.
5. Press the panel into position working from the centre outward to eliminate trapped air, maintaining consistent pressure across the full panel area.
6. Fit internal corner, external angle and joiner trims at all panel edges and wall junctions, color-matched to the panel for a seamless appearance.
7. Seal all trim joints with antibacterial silicone sealant to maintain the hygienic, bacteria-resistant performance of the complete system.
8. Allow adhesive to cure fully (typically 24 hours) before the wall is exposed to cleaning or contact.
Product Advantages· Lowest-cost entry point in the VS Series — provides genuine antimicrobial, fire-rated wall protection at the most accessible price point for budget-conscious projects
· Lightweight handling — easier and faster to cut, lift and install than thicker VS Series panels, reducing installation labour time across large-area projects
· Full VS Series hygiene performance — despite being the thinnest option,VS-08 carries the same antibacterial, waterproof and Class 1 fire-rated specification as the rest of the range
FAQQ: Is 0.8mm thick enough for a hospital environment, or is it only suitable for schools?
A: VS-08 is suitable for hospital areas with low mechanical impact risk — patient rooms, administrative offices and consulting rooms where the wall is not subject to regular cart, trolley or wheelchair contact. For hospital corridors and any area with regular equipment traffic, we recommend VS-10 or thicker. VS-08 is not a "schools-only" product — it is a thickness specification appropriate to lower-impact areas across
both healthcare and educational settings.
Q: Can VS-08 be installed directly over existing tile?
A: Yes, provided the existing tile surface is sound, flat and securely bonded to the substrate. Loose or damaged tiles must be removed and the surface made good before installation. Consult your adhesive manufacturer's guidance for tile substrates specifically.
Q: What is the difference between VS-08 and standard painted plasterboard?
A: Painted surfaces, even with antimicrobial paint additives, develop microscopic cracks and porosity over time with repeated cleaning and wear — these become colonisation sites for bacteria. VS-08's solid PVC surface remains genuinely non-porous and seamless (when properly trimmed and sealed) for its full service life, which is the core infection-control advantage over painted finishes.
