Applications· Office buildings — low-traffic stair edge protection in internal stairwells
· Retail stores and showrooms — discreet stair edge trim that complements floor finishes
· Residential apartment buildings — simple anti-slip protection for communal stair areas
· Schools and education facilities — budget-friendly stair safety for lower-risk stair areas
· Renovation and refurbishment — easy retrofit over existing stair tread surfaces without structural modification

Installation Steps1. Measure the stair tread width. Cut P50 to the required length using a sharp utility knife or mitre saw.
2. Clean the tread surface — remove dust, grease and any loose material from the installation area.
3. For adhesive installation: apply contact adhesive to the underside of the P50 profile and to the tread surface. Allow to become tacky (follow adhesive manufacturer's instructions). Press firmly into position.
4. For screw installation: position the P50 at the tread edge, mark fixing positions, drill pilot holes and fix with countersunk screws at 200mm intervals.
5. Roll or press the full length of the nosing firmly to ensure full contact with the tread surface.
6. Allow adhesive to cure before the stair is returned to use.
Product Advantages· Lowest installed cost in the range — PVC material and simple installation reduces total cost per step vs. aluminium profiles
· On-site trim to length — flexible PVC cuts cleanly with a utility knife; no metal cutting tools required
· Suitable for LVT and vinyl plank stairs — PVC nosing is the material-compatible choice for vinyl flooring stair installations
· Fast turnaround — standard stock availability; lead time 15–20 business days from confirmed order
FAQQ: Is the P50 suitable for outdoor use?
A: The P50 is designed for indoor use. For outdoor or concrete stair applications, we recommend the D50 or D60 aluminium + PVC insert profiles, which provide greater mechanical fix strength and weather resistance.
Q: What is the difference between the P50 and the D50?
A: The P50 is a full PVC profile — lightweight, flexible and lower cost, suitable for indoor light-to-medium traffic stairs. The D50 has an aluminium base with a PVC anti-slip insert — heavier duty, mechanically fixed, suitable for commercial, outdoor and concrete stair applications. The D50 also offers a replaceable PVC insert, reducing long-term maintenance cost.
Q: Can P50 be installed with adhesive instead of screws?
A: Yes. The P50 can be bonded with contact adhesive for installations where screw fixing is not practical (e.g. hollow-tile treads). For high-traffic stairs, mechanical fixing with countersunk screws is recommended for a more secure installation.
