Applications· Industrial plants and manufacturing facilities — stair edge protection under heavy footwear, mechanical loads and industrial cleaning
· Warehouses and logistics facilities — stairs used with pallet trucks and trolleys require maximum tread edge protection
· Transport infrastructure — railway stations, airports, metro systems where stairs face continuous maximum pedestrian loads
· Sports stadiums and arenas — heavy intermittent crowd loads on concrete stairs
· Government and institutional buildings — where building regulations specify maximum anti-slip tread coverage
· Ports and marine facilities — salt air and moisture environments where heavy-duty anodized aluminium is required
· Heavy-duty renovation and refurbishment — replacing worn stair nosing on industrial and transport facility stairs
Installation Steps1. Measure the tread width. For A70 on concrete industrial stairs, plan fixing spacing at 120–150mm intervals for maximum load distribution.
2. Clean and prepare the tread edge.
3. Position A70 at the tread front edge. Due to the 70mm width, ensure the nosing covers the full leading edge of the tread and does not overhang excessively.
4. Mark all fixing positions through the pre-drilled countersunk holes.
5. Drill pilot holes using a drill and masonry bit appropriate for your substrate.
6. Fix with countersunk screws (stainless steel or zinc-plated for corrosive environments; use chemical anchors for heavy concrete applications).
7. Check alignment and flush fit along the full length. The A70 profile should be fixed firmly with no movement under heavy foot or wheeled loads.
FAQQ: When should I specify A70 instead of A50 or D60?
A: Specify A70 when your application involves: heavy industrial or mechanical loads on stairs; maximum anti-slip surface area requirement; wide tread coverage for accessibility compliance at the high end; or a full-metal industrial specification. The D60 at 60mm with a PVC insert is typically the heavy-duty commercial specification; the A70 is the heavy-duty industrial all-metal specification.
Q: Can A70 be installed on steel stair treads?
A: Yes. The A70 can be fitted to steel stair grating and plate stair treads using appropriate metal screws or bolts. For welded installation onto steel structures, contact us for customised options.
Q: Is A70 available with a contrasting yellow insert?
A: The A70 is a full aluminium profile — it does not have a PVC insert channel. For wide-profile nosing with a contrasting yellow insert, specify the D60 (60mm aluminium + PVC insert). For full-aluminium with maximum width, the A70 is the specification.
