Applications· Main hospital corridors — the standard mid-weight specification for primary circulation routes with regular wheelchair, cart and stretcher contact
· Nursing home hallways with mobility equipment traffic — corridors used regularly by residents with walking frames, wheelchairs and mobility scooters
· Public building corridors with moderate-to-high foot traffic — government buildings, schools and commercial premises requiring genuine impact resistance beyond cosmetic wall protection
· European healthcare projects requiring EN13501-1 fire compliance documentation — VS-15's B-S3-d0 classification supports formal fire safety specification requirements common in EU and UK healthcare construction projects
Installation Steps
1. Prepare the wall substrate — surface must be smooth, clean, dry and free from loose paint, grease or old adhesive residue.
2. Measure and cut panels to size using a sharp utility knife or fine-tooth saw, allowing for trim profiles at all edges and corners.
3. Dry-fit panels to confirm layout, panel orientation and trim positions before applying adhesive.
4. Apply panel adhesive evenly to the wall using a notched trowel, following the adhesive manufacturer's coverage rate.
5. Press the panel into position working from the centre outward to eliminate trapped air, maintaining consistent pressure across the full panel area.
6. Fit internal corner, external angle and joiner trims at all panel edges and wall junctions, color-matched to the panel for a seamless appearance.
7. Seal all trim joints with antibacterial silicone sealant to maintain the hygienic, bacteria-resistant performance of the complete system.
8. Allow adhesive to cure fully (typically 24 hours) before the wall is exposed to cleaning or contact.
Additional note: at 1.5mm thickness, VS-15 has sufficient rigidity to span minor substrate irregularities without telegraphing through to the visible surface — however, the wall substrate should still be reasonably flat (within 3mm over 2m) for the best finished appearance.
Product Advantages· EN13501-1 B-S3-d0 certified — a recognised European fire safety classification, supporting specification in UK and EU healthcare construction projects with formal fire compliance documentation requirements
· Genuine impact resistance step-up — the 1.5mm thickness provides a meaningful durability improvement over VS-10 for corridors with sustained equipment contact, while remaining lighter and more cost-effective than the heaviest-duty VS-20/30 options
· 100+ custom colors — among the widest color ranges in the VS Series, supporting full interior design coordination for projects where wall cladding colour is part of a wayfinding or branding scheme
FAQQ: What does the EN13501-1 B-S3-d0 fire classification mean?
A: EN13501-1 is the European standard for fire classification of construction products. The "B" class indicates limited contribution to fire (a high level of fire performance, just below the highest "A" classifications used for non-combustible materials). "S3" refers to smoke production (s3 is the standard smoke class for this rating band)
and "d0" indicates no flaming droplets/particles are produced. This classification is commonly required in European healthcare and public building fire safety specifications — ask your fire safety consultant to confirm whether B-S3-d0 meets your specific project's fire classification requirement.
Q: Why does VS-15 come in two standard sizes (1220×2440mm and 1220×3000mm) while other VS models only offer one?
A: The 3000mm length option is provided for projects with taller corridor wall heights or where minimising horizontal joints is an architectural priority — a single 3000mm panel can span floor-to-ceiling in many standard healthcare corridor configurations without a horizontal joint. Specify the 3000mm option when your project's wall height benefits from the longer panel; otherwise the standard 2440mm length is suitable for most applications.
